Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Karen Buffkin, general counsel for the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU), has been placed on administrative leave.
The move was announced by the Connecticut Board of Regents on Friday.
It's pending the outcome of a third party independent review tied to former interim chancellor John Maduko over sexual harassment allegations.
Earlier this week, Natalie Braswell, the former state comptroller and lawyer for Governor Lamont, was tapped as interim chancellor.
In a statement, state Senate Republican Leader Stephen Harding said “Scandal after scandal. Gov. Lamont owns this scandalous, ongoing, broken mess."
