The Connecticut Office of the Secretary of the State announces totals for the first day of early voting and absentee ballots.
Total votes cast as of Monday, October 19, 2026, is 65,411, with 42,241 from early voting and 23,170 absentee ballots returned. A total of 55,041 absentee ballots were issued.
Early voting turnout has consisted of 24, 862 Democrats, 6,506 Republicans, 10,356 Unaffiliated voters, and 517 in the "other."
Of the absentee ballots that have been returned so far, there were 12,019 Democrats, 4,396 Republicans, 6,455 Unaffiliated voters, and 300 "other."
West Hartford has the most early votes so far at 982 cast.
