HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ The State of Connecticut adjusts its filing and payment deadline for Connecticut individual tax returns to be in line with the Internal Revenue Service.
Commissioner Mark Boughton announced on Thursday the CT DRS is extending the deadline to May 17, 2012.
The IRS also extended the federal deadline from April 15 to May 17.
“Given the relatively late start to the federal income tax filing season and recent passage of the America Rescue Plan Act, which includes provisions that impact tax filing this year, yesterday’s announcement is understandable,” said Commissioner Boughton in response to the IRS move.
