The Department of Correction is reporting the death of an inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell Wednesday night.
The DOC says an inmate found Said Khaled Youssef, 41, unresponsive with a ligature around his neck around 7:35 p.m.
Staff attempted life-saving measures and transported Youssef to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Youssef, a Queens, New York, resident was being held on several charges with a $20,000 bond.
Connecticut State Police are investigating the death.
