Hartford, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The word is out about a moose seen traipsing about portions of western Connecticut.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said it's probably the same moose that's been spotted in Woodbury, Southbury, Danbury, Newtown and New Fairfield.
DEEP said that should serve as a reminder that with all the other wildlife in our state, to keep an eye out for these huge mammals.
"They also may demonstrate unpredictable behavior if they wander into populated areas. Under no circumstances should moose be approached", said DEEP.
The moose population in Connecticut is small--only about 100 or so.
But this is breeding season for moose, when they're apt to travel farther distances.
DEEP says be keep an eye out for them, particularly at dusk and night.
Data show that a collision with a moose is 30 times more likely to result in a human death than a deer.
And experts say they can become aggressive if they feel threatened.
