On a day when getting to the polls was a chore thanks to a snowstorm, Democrats won three special elections for the state House.

At the lone polling station in West Hartford taking part, 27 voters showed up.

Unofficial results, via Secretary of the State:

6th Dist. (Hartford, West Hartford): James Sanchez (D) 325, Jason Diaz (petition candidate) 198

100th Dist. (Middletown): Kai Belton (D) 1716, Deborah Kleckowski (R) 776

148th Dist. (Stamford): Anabel Figueroa (D) 584, Olga Anastos (R) 373

The seats in the 6th and 148th opened due to retirements. The 100th opened due to January's sudden death of Rep. Quentin "Q" Williams.

Democrats will hold a 98-53 edge in the House.
