Storrs, Conn./WTIC Radio - Governor Lamont has announced details for a victory parade and rally for the newly crowned national champion UConn men's basketball team.
The events take place this Saturday, April 8.
Start time for the parade is 1130 a.m., stepping off from the state Capitol.
The route will take the team north on Trinity Street through the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch on to Jewell and Trumbull Streets, winding up at Asylum and Trumbull Streets.
The rally will begin at noon and will be held outside the main entrance to the XL Center with players, coaches and other guests in attendance.
The event is being produced by the Hartford Business Improvement District, the state and the city of Hartford.
