East Hampton considers school guard guns

Parents numbed by the parade of school shootings gathered in East Hampton during the night to discuss how to keep their kids safe.
They considered whether to support the Board of Ed's proposal to place armed guards in public schools in the Middlesex town.
Said Samuel Cruz, we want some kind of armed security to deter these violent acts. East Hampton is not alone.
The regional district in Lyme and Old Lyme recently voted to have its security guards start carrying guns. That's also the case in Montville and Putnam. There were also officials at the meeting from towns that rejected arming schoolguards - and they questioned the wisdom of bringing guns into schools.
