WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Business information systems students at Eastern Connecticut State University have developed a website to help people learn how to schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments in Connecticut.
It has been a daunting process for some, particularly among people who are not used to using computers or the internet.
Under guidance from the Northeast District Department of Health, the BIS students and program coordinator, Dr. Alex Citurs, volunteered to create a one-page website to teach people what steps need to be taken in registering for a COVID vaccination appointment.
Among the site's features, there are step-by-step instructions, self-help videos, and English-Spanish translations. The tutorials delve into basics, such as creating an email account - a requirement through VAMS, the state's vaccine scheduling system.
The website is available to everyone, including those who are helping their family and friends make a vaccination appointment.
