Southington Police arrest eight suspects in connection with a fight that led to a double shooting at the Cadillac Ranch on Wednesday evening.
The Cadillac Ranch was hosting its weekly "bike night" event when police arrived around 7 p.m. to a parking lot that was congested with people, consisting of motorcycle enthusiasts and members of "several motorcycle clubs."
A 25-year-old man was shot in the chest during a physical altercation that began in the parking lot. A 44-year-old man was also shot.
Both men are expected to survive, though the 25-year-old man is suffering from critical injuries and the 44-year-old man is in stable condition.
An assault charge is filed against James McDermott, 52, of Waterbury, Gerard McAfee, 54, of Branford, Philip Gugliotti, 55, of Waterbury, and Harley Woodbury, 31, of Terryville.
An interference with an officer charge is filed against Kevin Lawlor, 48, of Derby, William Schneiter, 60, of Baltic, Marc Debenigno, 49, of Waterbury, and Zarif Ramadanov, 46, of Bethany.
A firearm was recovered at the scene. Police haven't said who fired it.
Southington Police activated a "code blue" notice, which triggered a mutual response from Connecticut State Police, Bristol, Plainville, Farmington, New Britain, and Berlin Police Departments.
