New Haven, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven's Bravest will lay one of their own to rest on Tuesday.
The funeral for firefighter Thomas Mieles will be held at St. Francis Church.
Mieles was killed in an off-duty crash on November 2.
He had only joined the department in January of this year.
Mieles worked out of Engine 10 at the Lombard Fire Station in the city's Fair Haven section, which was the neighborhood in which he grew up.
Mayor Justin Elicker called Mieles "a New Havener through and through".
City Fire Chief John Alston said it was a dream of Mieles' to be a firefighter in his hometown.
The funeral begins at 11:00 a.m.
Mieles will be laid to rest in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
