Griswold woman faces manslaughter charge

Griswold, Conn. WTIC Radio)-a Griswold mother has been charged with manslaughter and a risk of injury in the death of her 6-week-old infant, Connecticut State Police said.

According to Police, EMS responded to an apartment on Slater Avenue, last Friday, finding the infant unresponsive. The infant  was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center, medically treated for  several days. State Police say the infant was pronounced deceased on Sunday.

An investigation by police determined the infant's mother, Crystal Czyzewski, 35, was responsible for the infant's death.

On Monday Czyzewski was taken into custody without incident, charged with Manslaughter and Risk of Injury to a Child.

Czyzewski faces arraignment in Norwich Superior Court Wednesday at 9 AM. Her bond is $500,000.
