WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A tire almost completely shears a roof off a vehicle traveling on I-95 in Westport.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash around 3:11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
A car with its roof almost totally sliced off was found in the left lane on I-95 south between exits 17 and 16.
Companies utilized extrication equipment to free the trapped occupant. Then, Westport EMS transported the occupant to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Preliminary investigation finds that an errant tire from an unknown vehicle had struck the moving car.
State Police are investigating the crash.
