HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - They're off and running!
An expected 10,000 runners took off for the 26.2-mile marathon from Bushnell Park on Saturday morning, going into the neighboring towns of East Hartford and South Windsor before looping back into Hartford.
Also happening on Saturday: a 5k, a half marathon, and a relay.
Parking restrictions in place in Hartford, West Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor to allow for crowd safety, with various highway exit ramps also closed until 2 p.m. Saturday. More details are available here.
Race day is also considered to be a boon for Hartford's economy, with the expectation the weekend's festivities will bring in $10,000,000.
