Prospect, Conn./WTIC Radio - Firefighters in Prospect had their hands full with an early Saturday morning fire.
The call went out around 2:30 a.m.
The two-story wood frame structure was fully involved by the time crews arrived on scene.
Initially, firefighters attacked the blaze from within.
However, they were forced to retreat due to deteriorating conditions and a partial roof collapse.
In addition, fire officials say a dearth of hydrants in the area forced them to truck water to the scene.
Prospect was assisted by fire companies from Cheshire, Naugatuck, Wolcott, and Beacon Hose Co. 1.
Bethany coordinated water shuttle operations.
No injuries have been reported.
