Five arrested, four shot in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford police say they have arrested five people in connection with a shooting that injured four victims on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the shooting happened in the area of 175 Nelson Street around 3:08 p.m.

Using the city's surveillance system, police were able to find the suspect vehicle and chase it onto I-91 Northbound.

Five suspects were taken into custody in a wooded area behind homes on Carriage Way. The suspect vehicle was abandoned in Bloomfield and the suspects allegedly fled on foot.

Police arrested two 18-year-old suspects, Ja'kye Preston and Shawn Chung. Two 17-year-old's and a 16-year-old were arrested but aren't being named because of their ages.

All face multiple counts of first-degree assault, first degree conspiracy to commit assault, pistol without a permit, and third-degree larceny.
