Stratford, Conn./WTIC Radio - One of those killed in a fiery crash along the Merritt Parkway in Stratford this week was a Fairfield University student.
The school says in a statement on its Facebook page that Alexander Dennis was a member of the class of 2025, having recently completed his junior year.
A vehicle headed north in the southbound lanes collided with a minivan containing the driver and two passengers from Easton near exit 53 early Thursday morning.
State police say that fourth person killed in the crash was the wrong way driver.
"At a time of year when we are actively engaged in the celebration of our students and their accomplishments, a loss like this seems inconceivable. Those who knew and loved Alex will be especially impacted by his passing, and his loss will be felt across campus", said Fairfield University President Mark Nemec.
The crash remains under investigation.
