NEW HARTFORD, CONN.(WTIC Radio)-State Police took a fugitive into custody Saturday night in a heavily wooded area, aided by K9 Gordon.
New Hartford Police first observed a vehicle on Main Street just after 10:15, as it drove behind a commercial building that was closed. The officer made contact with the driver who failed to provide a valid reason for driving behind the building during after-hours. Information was developed that the driver was there attempting to make contact with a person known to have several outstanding arrest warrants.
Based on that, a trooper and K9 initiated a track, leading them to a heavily-wooded area. That's where Santo Consolini, 48, of Winsted was taken into custody without incident.
he faces two counts of failure to appear. His bond is $852, 500 and he's scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Monday.
