Madison, Conn./WTIC Radio - Some residents in Madison were advised to shelter in place Sunday morning following what police say was a large active gas leak.
People were advised to avoid the area of Overloook Road between Opening Hill and Colonial Roads.
They say a tree brought down power lines which, in turn, damaged a nearby gas main.
There were multiple homes without power.
Personnel were dispatched to the scene to address the leak and the power outage.
