The program also offers job placement services across various sectors, including manufacturing, health care and technology, state officials said.

Using $70 million out of the federal American Rescue Plan Act, the program is anticipated to support training for about 8,000 participants, according to state officials.

“CareerConneCT will not only help unemployed individuals find work, but it will also help modernize our workforce and strengthen our economy by providing innovative companies across our state with access to the most educated workforce in the country,” Governor Ned Lamont said.

The first application round is open through February 20. Grants will be issued every February and August.

Applications can be submitted through the CareerConneCT portal.
