New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man accused of shooting a Yale grad student to death not far from campus three years ago has pleaded guilty to murder.
Qinxuan Pan, 32, of New Haven is expected to be sentenced to 35 years in prison when he appears in court April 25th.
The plea stems from the February 6th, 2021 shooting of Kevin Jiang, 26, of New Haven.
Jiang was found in the area of Lawrence and Nicoll Streets with multiple gunshot wounds.
Pan was on the lam for three months before his arrest in May of 2021 by U.S. Marshals in Alabama.
During his time on the run, authorities say Pan stole a vehicle in Mansfield, Massachuetts, and was in possession of phony documents and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.
He will be sentenced in New Haven Superior Court.
