Hamden police arrested a woman Monday after police say she struck and ran over her boyfriend with her vehicle, giving him a fractured pelvis.

Authorities responded to the parking lot of Clarion Inn and Suites on Whitney Avenue where they rendered medical aid to a 40-year-old Hamden resident at about 7:30 in the morning.

Through investigation, police said they learned the victim and his girlfriend, Jennifer Bonaparte, 43, of Hamden, got into a verbal dispute outside the front door of the hotel.

Afterward, Bonaparte got into her vehicle, struck the victim, knocking him to the ground, and then ran over him, police said.

According to police, further investigation showed that Bonaparte's vehicle appeared to briefly "rest on top" of the victim before "backing up over his body in reverse."

The victim suffered several injuries, police said, including a fractured pelvis. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested Bonaparte on charges of first degree Assault (two counts), Breach of Peace, Reckless Driving, Operating under Suspension and Operating without Insurance.

Bonaparte is being detained on a $25,000.00 bond, police said, with a scheduled court date of October 13 at Meriden Superior Court.
