
HARTFORD, CONN (WTIC Radio)-Mayor Arunan Arulampalam has announced the creation of the Office of the Business One Stop,
to circumvent the process to start a business in the city, emphasizing he wants to make Hartford the easiest to do business in the state.
"It's the one place businesses can go when they have issues. If you want to start a business and need to know who to call about permits and the process.
Exisitng businesses can also use it if they have issues with city hall, " he said.
Arulampalam said other initiatives will be unveiled in the next few weeks.
The new office is part of the Department of Development Services.
Arulampalam named Don Chapman Director. He previously worked for the city for 18 years as Director of Small Business and Community Development, recently ran a non-profit and is an urban planner.
Arulampalam made the announcement at the Blue Hills Cafe on Albany Avenue.
