Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Hartford is opening up cooling centers across the city during this week's heat wave.

“With temperatures reaching the high-90s, we will once again be opening our cooling centers at library branches throughout the city to help our residents stay safe and cool,” said Mayor Luke Bronin.  “We encourage all of our residents to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun, and check in on loved ones and neighbors who may be affected by the heat.”

The centers are at the following locations:

Downtown Library
500 Main St.
Wednesday and Thursday: 9:00-6:00
Friday: 9:00-5:00

Albany Library
1250 Albany Ave.
Wednesday and Thursday: 10:00-6:00
Friday: 10:00-5:00

Barbour Library
261 Barbour St.
Wednesday and Thursday 10:00-6:00
Friday: 10:00-5:00

Camp Field Library
30 Campfield Ave.
Wednesday and Thursday 10:00-6:00
Friday: 10:00-5:00

Dwight Library
7 New Park Ave.
Wednesday and Thursday 10:00-6:00
Friday: 10:00-5:00
