Greenwich, Conn./WTIC Radio - The investigation continues into the death of a state Department of Transportation worker who was stuck by a vehicle while working on Interstate 95 in Greenwich early Saturday morning.
According to state police, Traymont Tucker, 38, of Waterbury was part of a crew working in the left lane northbound at exit 3 around 2:30 a.m.
Investigators say a vehicle veered into the construction pattern, striking Tucker.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
State DOT Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto in a statement Saturday implored drivers to pay attention, slow down and move over when driving through construction areas, adding "this tragedy underscores how dangerous working on the highway is and how critical it is for everyone to do their part to keep workers safe."
