Hartford, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A hard fought and at times personal battle for a Connecticut congressional seat has come to an end.

Democratic fifth district Congresswoman Jahana Hayes has declared victory in her bid for a third term.
Earlier this evening, the Office of the Secretary of the State issued a statement, saying the margin of Hayes' victory over Republican George Logan was 1,842 votes.
That surpasses any "statutory margin of victory that would necessitate a recount", SOTS said.
Hayes say she will continue to work on the things that have the attention of those in her district, the state and country.
That is, namely the economy and prescription drugs, among other things.
Hayes said the message to those who didn't vote for her doesn't change her mission: to work for all of her constituents regardless of party affiliation, Democrat, Republican, and unaffiliated.
