Storrs, Conn./WTIC Radio - UConn has a new head football coach.
On Saturday, the university announced Jason Candle, the head coach at Toledo, would be taking the helm of the Huskies.
Candle will succeed Jim Mora, who left after the regular season to take the top job at Colorado State.
Candle had been the Rockets head coach for a decade, notching an 81-44 record.
He is the winningest coach in that programs' history.
Candle has signed a six-year contract that will take him through the 2031 season at UConn.
In a statement, Candle says he's honored and excited to be making the move to Storrs.
He'll be formally introduced at a Monday press conference.
