(WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest a Webster Bank employee in Kent who allegedly stole funds from elderly bank clients.
In an investigation that began on June 5, 2023, troopers say they learned from a representative of Webster Bank that they suspected employee Arron Pasons, 44, of Kent, of stealing funds from elderly banking clients.
Investigators found Parsons allegedly wrote up a total of 39 falsified withdrawal tickets, stealing more than $100,000 in total from five accounts between September 2022 and February of 2023.
Bank representatives told State Police that he indicated he felt badly about taking the funds and, on one occasion, replaced a portion of the funds he had taken from one of his clients.
The investigating Trooper was provided with copies of security video footage depicting Parsons appearing to complete withdrawal tickets associated with the unauthorized withdrawals at times when the affected clients were not present.
Parsons was arrested on January 5 on a first-degree larceny charge.
Bond is $160,000.
