
EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTIC Radio) Residents are being advised to avoid a section of the Connecticut River until further notice.
That's because there's been a sewage leak that's made its way into the River.
The State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection warning against any contact with the River from East Windsor, downstream into Hartford, at the least.
Those activities include fishing and boating.
According to the DEEP's update Friday, a major sewer line break was discovered on South Water Street.
At least 300-thousand-gallons of untreated sewage may be discharging into the River per day while emergency repairs are underway.
