Life-threatening injuries in Waterbury hit-and-run crash

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police are investigating an early Thursday morning hit-and-run crash resulting in life-threatening injuries.

Police say the crash involving an SUV and a garbage truck happened around 4:15 a.m. in the area of North Main Street and Lakewood Road.

Most of the people in the SUV fled the scene of the crash before police could arrive.

Two people were left behind.

One person in the SUV was taken to an area hospital treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the garbage truck was evaluated and treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
