Ellington, Conn./WTIC Radio - A Mansfield man is facing charges in connection with a fatal crash last year in Ellington.
Michael Moscardelli, 21, is charged.
State police say Moscardelli ran his car into a tree in last November 25 on Sandy Beach Road.
The vehicle burst into flames after the crash, in which Moscardelli failed to negotiate a curve, said police.
Moscardelli and another person got out but a third person did not.
James Moran was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moscardelli was not cooperative with first responders who attempted to check on him, police said.
He and the other surviving passenger were treated for injuries.
Troopers said their investigation found that Moscardelli had been traveling 55 mph.
The posted speed limit is 35 mph.
Moscardelli is charged with OUI, manslaughter, speeding and other offenses.
His bond was set at $50,000 and he's due in court in Rockville December 23.
