Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - An arrest has been made in the death of an infant in Hartford nearly two years ago.

It was April 5, 2023 when police say they were called to a Rosemont Street residence on a report of an unresponsive infant.

The baby, six-month-old Jaheem Morely, later died at Connecticut Children's in Hartford.

The chief medical examiner deemed the death a homicide.

Police say their investigation turned up a suspect, Donte Morely, 27, of that Rosemont Street address.

An arrest warrant was prepared and approved and it was found that Donte Morely was behind bars in Florida on unrelated charges.

He was extradited back to Connnecticut March 28.

Morley is being held by Hartford police on charges of manslaughter, along with two counts of risk of injury.

Bond was set at $1 million.
