Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - A Manchester man is facing charges after state police say he struck a police cruiser on Interstate 84 Monday.
Troopers say they were investigating a separate crash scene around 5:00 p.m. near the westbound exit 59 ramp to I-384.
That's when they say Eric Essuman, 53, drifted into the right shoulder and hit the state police car from behind.
The trooper on scene was treated for minor injuries.
Essuman wasn't hurt, say police, but he did show signs of impairment.
He failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Essuman was booked on charges of OUI, failure to maintain lane, following too closely, and failure to slow down and move over.
He was released on bond and is due in court next month.
