Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Waterbury police are investigating what they're calling the untimely death of a man Monday linked to an earlier assault.
Officers were called to home at 27 Platt Street just before 3:00 p.m.
The victim was identified as Wilfredo Martinez, 67, of that same address.
Martinez was unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say Martinez was involved in a physical altercation with his son, Luis Martinez, 42, of Waterbury.
He was later located and arrested.
Luis Martinez faces charges of assault, assault on an elderly person, reckless endangerment, breach of peace, and threatening.
Bond was set at $1 million.
Police said the investigation is continuing and they are working with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, which will determine and exact cause of death.
