HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police are investigating a homicide at an apartment building that is believed to have happened during overnight hours.
Police responded to 69 Blue Hills Avenue around 12:46 p.m. Wednesday on the report of gunfire inside the building.
Evidence of gunshots were found in a common stairwell.
While checking the well-being of the residents of the building, police found Zayon Collier, 25, of Hartford, dead from gunshot wounds.
It is believed that the homicide is connected to a citizen's report of shots fired in the area during overnight hours Wednesday. Police conducted a lengthy canvass of the area at that time but did not produce any evidence of gunfire.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
