Middletown, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash Saturday in Middletown.

Police say they got the call around 5:45 p.m. to Randolph Road near Zoar's Pond.

They say Michael Thiede, 53, hit a guardrail after a deer jumped in front of the bike, according to witnesses.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
