Stamford, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man is in the hospital, and one person is under arrest following an early morning crash in Stamford.
Police say just after 2:30, a 73-year-old man was attempting to cross Washington Boulevard when he was struck by a van.
The victim was not in the crosswalk, say police, and the driver fled the scene.
The man is being treated for potentially life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was found in a nearby parking and officers tracked down the owner, 24-year-old Jean Vieux.
Police say he admitted to hitting something but offered no other details.
Vieux is charged with evading responsibility and being held on bond.
