Windsor, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police say one person was killed in a crash early Tuesday morning on Interstate 91.

Troopers say a little after 12:30 a.m, they were dispatched to the location of I-91 and the Route 20 east connector in Windsor.

A vehicle driven by James Engle, 60, of Ellington, veered right, crossed the right shoulder and wound up in a grassy area.

The car hit a sign and two trees, as well, say investigators.

Engle was rushed to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
