Man who drowned in Candlewood Lake identified

Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has released the name of a man who went missing in Candlewood Lake in Brookfield last month whose body was found last Thursday.

Twenty-four-year-old Larry Kwokpo Chan was from Bristol.

Chan went missing after entering the water from a vessel on May 29, DEEP said.

State Police, DEEP EnCon Police and other local law enforcement agencies assisted in the search.

DEEP said the incident is being investigated as an accidental drowning pending a final report from the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
