SIMSBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Simsbury Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a man and a woman at a home in the Weatogue section of town.
Police responded to a shooting at a home on Woodleigh Place around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. An 18-year-old woman who was inside a home where the shooting occurred ran out of the house to a neighbor and called police.
Officers found Linda Halligan, 57, inside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where she later died.
Upon further investigation of the home, police found the body of Bernard Halligan, 59, in the garage.
The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirms a murder-suicide situation. Linda was shot in the head in a homicide manner. Bernard had shot himself in the head in a suicide.
The manner of the shooting deaths is under investigation.
