Manchester, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A Manchester police sergeant charged in connection with allegedly enticing a minor online has been found dead.
The arrest warrant on Sergeant Ryan Moan, 33, has been sealed by the court.
Moan, also a school resource officer supervisor, had been on the force since 2017.
The discovery of his death came around the time Friday afternoon when it was announced Moan was facing charges of risk of injury/impairing the morals of a child, enticing a minor by computer, misrepresentation of age to entice a minor, and tampering with physical evidence.
Vernon Police responded to a call requesting a welfare check on a man, later identified as Moan, at the Hatch Hill Road Boat launch.
They say that Moan had apparently turned a gun on himself.
Moan had been released on $50,000.00 bond.
Investigators had said the charges against Moan were not related to him acting in his capacity as a police officer. They also added that the alleged victim was not a student in the Manchester school system.
