Her name was Joyce Grayson.
She is now identified as the visiting nurse found murdered in a Willimantic basement.
She was found dead, say police, following a scheduled appointment with a registered sex offender identified as 38-year-old Michael Carlos Reese. The suspect was caught when police say he ran from near the scene of the killing.
Channel 3 reports that Grayson worked for the Connecticut Department of mental Health And Addiction Services.
She was also, says the report, a foster parent to 35 children over the past two plus decades.
Department of Children and Families Commissioner Vannessa Dorantes says in a statement that Joyce Grayson's "warmth, kindness and compassion will be missed by everyone who knew her and her legacy will live on in the countless lives of children she touched.”
