WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police say a Naugatuck Police officer was injured in a shooting during an undercover operation.
Part of the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force, two officers were traveling in an undercover police cruiser while following a suspect vehicle Wednesday night.
Another vehicle pulled up near the police cruiser and opened fire on it in the area of Chase Parkway near the I-84 Eastbound entrance ramp in Waterbury.
A bullet grazed one officer from the Naugatuck Police Department. The officer's identity has not been released. The second officer in the undercover police vehicle was not injured.
The officer was treated for a minor injury at Waterbury Hospital, then released.
Waterbury Police are pursuing leads.
