New Britain, Conn./WTIC Radio - The tax collector in New Britain has been placed on paid administrative leave.
The move comes after what the mayor's office says was years of "financial malfeasance" during Cheryl Bogoslawski's time heading the department.
Mayor Bobby Sanchez says he's ordered an independent investigation to ensure transparency, which is active and ongoing.
Officials did not spell out what type of actions took place, only saying more information will be released at the appropriate time.
