NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police arrest a para-professional teacher's assistant who allegedly brought a loaded handgun to the Katherine Brennan School on Friday.
Police say another employee at the school reported a conversation involving Sonnetta Powell, 31, of North Haven, in which she allegedly said she had a gun.
Police were under the impression it was in her car, but it was actually on her person.
Powell has been charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and second degree breach of peace.
Powell is being held on $50,000 bond.
