HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford police are charging a New London man in connection with a homicide that happened in early October.
Investigators say they developed Elvin Gonzalez, 43, of New London, in connection with the October 3, 2024, shooting that claimed the life of Chevoyia Rivers.
Police say they responded to the area of 5 Florence Street around 1:15 p.m. that Thursday where Rivers was found unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital.
Gonzalez is being charged with murder and first-degree criminal attempt to commit assault.
He is being held on a $2,000,000 bond.
