New Haven, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven police are mourning the death of one of their own.
In a Facebook post, the department has announced the death of Officer Michael Hinton.
Hinton died after battling cancer for a year-and-a-half.
He joined the NHPD in 2014.
Hinton is described as "a dedicated husband, father of two and friend of many."
He is also being remembered for his "selfless dedication to his work and family."
There's no word on funeral arrangements.
