COLCHESTER, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest an oil delivery truck driver in connection with driving over the legal BAC limit for a commercial motor vehicle.

Joshua Blanchette, 35, of Lisbon, was driving an oil truck on Old Hebron Road in Colchester around 6 p.m. Wednesday when reports were made to State Police that he was operating the truck while intoxicated.

Troopers say that his employer was able to stop the truck.

Subsequent field sobriety tests discovered Blanchette was driving the truck at over 6-times the legal limit for a commercial motor vehicle, which is .04.

State Police charge Blanchette with operating a commercial motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and second-degree reckless endangerment.

The oil tanker was holding about 2,200 gallons of fuel oil.

Blanchette was released on a $10,000 bail.

He's due in Norwich Superior Court on July 18, 2023.
