Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - One person is dead and another is in the hospital following a shooting Wednesday night in Hartford.
Just after 7:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 149 Magnolia Street to investigate a ShotSpotter notification.
Upon arrival, police found Diana Tirado, 46, of New Britain unresponsive in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located a second victim on the sidewalk.
The female in her 30s was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and is now in stable condition.
Later Thursday, the suspect in the shootings was found barricaded in a hotel room in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
Officers from Hartford, Holyoke and the Massachusetts State Police responded.
After several hours of negotiations, it was learned the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing and Hartford police ask anyone with any information to give them a call.
