CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Cheshire Fire Department is searching for an unaccounted person after a fire that hospitalized another person early Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at a residence on Brookside Place. It's believed the fire happened in the back of the home, which suffered a partial collapse. The damage is considered extensive.
One person, described as a man, who was in the house at the time of the fire has been hospitalized. The extent of his injuries isn't clear.
Another person remains unaccounted for. Investigators don't have much information about the second person or whether they were at the home or had left.
The State Fire Marshall is assisting Cheshire Police and Fire in finding a place a origin for the fire. There's no word on a cause.
